Rotoball 2011

It’s a little jumpy since we shot all the pictures without a tripod, but the 5th grade Art Club entry for Rotoball 2011 still came out great. Next year, getting a tripod, definitely & going with more of a “Pen Story” type animation. Now, I have students doing coming in to school with cool stop-motion animations they made on their own, so I know all the effort was worth it! Here’s a few stills from the movie.
In Rotoball, the ball has to come from the left, transform, & go out to the right in 15 seconds. We chose to do another claymation, and voted on the “story”, which was a bowling ball going down a ramp, knocking down pins, turning into a bowling-pin man, then the ball became a rising moon, which turned into a “man moon” at the end.
